In 2009, Pastor Charlie heard for the very first time The Message of The Cross through the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Radio Broadcast on 99.1 fm in the Coachella Valley. Like many, he was taken back by the bluntness of The Message and like many, he was initially offended by what he heard. He would hear that what He believed to be true regarding how to live for God was completely wrong. He would hear that the object of his faith had to be Jesus Christ & Him Crucified, that the “Only” means by which we are to live for God is through Jesus Christ and What He Did on The Cross (Romans 8:2, Galatians 2:20). Despite the initial offense, he would continue to listen and eventually received what many call the “Revelation Of The Cross”, The Holy Spirit revealed to him how it is that The Cross of Christ is the means by which we receive anything and everything from God, including a victorious Christian life.

In 2010, Pastor Charlie and his wife Margie were instructed by The Holy Spirit to leave their church and his position as Associate Pastor & Vice President. His son Donny was the Youth Pastor of the same church and Donny’s wife Candy was as well heavily involved in the ministry. Pastor Charlie shared with his son what God had placed on his heart and that they were to leave their church to start a brand new ministry - Anchored To The Cross! The church began in a small living room and as The Lord continued to bless the ministry, they quickly moved to a small building in Indio, Ca. Pastor Charlie & Margie have focused on Preaching The Message of The Cross, Local Outreaches and have been committed to supporting JSM (Jimmy Swaggart Ministries) through media membership as well as hosting various JSM Preachers & Singers each year. To accommodate the church growth, in 2013 Anchored To The Cross was blessed to move to their current location on Golf Center Parkway in Indio.
